As part of the ongoing dissemination activities of the MARS (Non-Western Migration Regimes in a Global Perspective) project, a series of expert-led workshops were held at Uzbekistan National University from 7 to 10 March 2025. The sessions were conducted by Dilaver Khamzaev, a researcher at the Department of Sociology of Law at Lund University, Sweden.
The workshops covered key topics, including “International Law and Artificial Intelligence”, “AI Laboratory”, and “The Legal Status and Future Prospects of AI in Uzbekistan”. These discussions engaged students and faculty in a dynamic exchange of ideas on the intersection of artificial intelligence and legal frameworks, highlighting the challenges and opportunities AI presents in legal governance and migration management.
Furthermore, faculty members engaged in expert discussions on the MARS project’s research agenda, sharing insights on non-Western migration regimes and their global implications. This event provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge on migration governance and expanding academic collaboration between European and Central Asian institutions.
